Resistance Should Have Begun Right Here But it Didn't, 2024
Description
From childhood, I was drawn into vivid, often unsettling dreams-nightmares that felt like echoes from the collective unconscious. I used to sketch them every morning, and though the habit faded, those visions never left me. Over time, they evolved into artworks reflecting a new kind of dystopia: the “algorithm ghetto,” a technocratic system powered by AI that rapidly encircles us and quietly shapes how we think, behave, and assign value.
My work explores the tension between classical morals, imagery, and symbolism, and the contemporary mindset shaped by algorithms. These invisible digital walls, built by social media and machine logic, distort our sense of freedom, responsibility, and individuality, while eroding our connection to history, truth, and our own instincts. Our merging with machines raises questions about free will and whether we live in a modern-day Matrix or Plato’s cave.
To engage with this paradox, I use generative tools and custom programming-
ironically, the very technologies that embody the systems I critique. My process blends digital generation with meticulous, careful manual refinement, creating large-scale, detailed prints that reflect this interplay. Each piece is unique (1/1 + 2AP), born from a dialogue between human touch and machine logic.
Through my art, I aim to reveal the absurdity of living in a world increasingly
governed by unseen algorithms, inviting viewers to reflect on how these forces
shape our perceptions and values.
