The Standard is a series of 16 works, each with a different size. Using thousands of children’s toy “soldiers,” the artist constructs standardized geometric forms through melting, folding, and molding. Each figure undergoes a “war-like” transformation, becoming part of a larger, structured whole.
These toy soldiers, once used in childhood sandbox war games, represent a space where conflict was simulated as play. In this work, that sense of play shifts into a more serious context.

The geometric forms reference the artist’s early training in drawing, marking the transition from free expression to academic discipline. Disordered toys are reorganized into structured forms, intertwining childhood, play, society, war, and cruelty.
