Unique work

Waveform Kilim is a hand woven textile derived from a six second audio fragment of a nomadic folk song recorded in Aegean Yörük communities. The woven pattern translates the structure of the sound wave into a visual and material form.

Using recycled wool and traditional weaving techniques, the work connects oral and material modes of transmission. Rather than representing the song narratively, the piece encodes its physical trace into the logic of weaving.

The result is a textile that holds a temporal structure within a static form, where sound is not heard but embedded as pattern. The work functions as a visual record of vibration, translating time into surface through repetition, rhythm, and contrast.
