In my coloured pencil drawings I celebrate the queer and multicultural community I myself am a part of. I aim to portray this multifarious life in all its natural beauty by shedding a soft and loving light on it. My main focus is to capture the nuanced, fleeting emotions and gestures of the people around me. They come to life through various layers of soft strokes of colour on paper. Despite living in a digital culture of incessant posing, the people in my work seldom do. They are drawn in states of ease, at times when they simply are. That way, each drawing becomes a quiet, intimate offering to get closer to the essence of each person.
