Yuka is a Berlin based multidisciplinary artist and life model. Her work consists primarily of self-portraiture, "extended self-portrait" and life drawing; which is a big part of her identity. In order to strengthen compassion for the extended world, she values the importance of being aware of what we appreciate in our immediate lives, and this is the motive of her art making/life style.


Studying performing arts at Tama Art University, Tokyo(2008-2012) led her to find her passion in life modelling rather than becoming an artist straight.
She considers herself an "alternatively self-taught" artist. Without receiving academic training or formal education in fine art, she learnt figure art and drawing from listening to all kinds of teachings from the other side of the easels.


Her practice as an artist and as a person outside of her artwork has no clear boundaries. Yuka describes her process of making art as "living", "downloading" and "reading". She lives and revisits the motifs from her immediate life, catches a spark of light in the moment, put through various mediums such as drawing, collage or photography, and analyzes how it resonates with the world today.
