Works by Susanne Piotter

About

Susanne Piotter is a multi-disciplinary artist working in the fields of sculpture, installation and printmaking. Her fascination with architecture is evident in her sculptural work, which is influenced by impressions and observations of many different places and buildings, and by the use of concrete as a building material.

In Piotter's work, concrete functions not only as an innovative material for construction and art, but also as a historically and ideologically charged medium. Piotter's artefacts unite the various conflicting components - the utopian and the destructive - and evoke a long-forgotten social awakening and a bygone future that is now seen from a different perspective. The artefacts are a tangible and often playful reflection on a reality characterised by constant transformation and change.
