ANIKÓ BODA
ABOUT THE ARTIST
BORN 1973, SZEGED, HUNGARY
LIVES & WORKS IN GÖDÖLLO & BUDAPEST, HUNGARY
Anikó Boda is a Hungarian visual artist who currently lives in Budapest and works as a member of the artist community 'Budapest Art Factory'. She studied traditional figurative painting in New York (School of Visual Arts and Art Students League) and at the Academy of Fine Arts Budapest.
Boda is a storyteller of our times, an architect of her imaginary world. Her paintings are based on philosophical and psychological problems and reflect her brightly coloured, sometimes even funny solutions. The works fuse the traditional figurative oil painting technique on canvas with experimental methods of priming.
Boda thinks of herself as a human radio aerial which receives signals from everywhere around the world, from the past, present and the future. Folktales, childhood memories, movies, books, political and economical issues are all food for thinking and painting.
