Phillip Staffa | Dropped Cone (Mango), 2025
Wall sculpture
Description
Plaster, Acrylic
40 × 20 × 14 cm
Unique
"Dropped Cone (Mango)" is a sculptural translation of a fallen ice cream cone. Enlarged and fixed in the moment after collapse, the familiar summer object becomes both comic and strangely tender.
Its bright yellow surface, softened by rounded forms and playful details, evokes sweetness, heat, and fleeting pleasure. At the same time, the dropped cone suggests accident, loss, and the fragile nature of desire. Suspended between joy and failure, the work turns an everyday mishap into a sculptural image of temptation, nostalgia, and impermanence.
