AI World offers a glimpse into Ghone's curiosity about technology and how people are connected through an invisible digital world. The artwork began with a completely different idea before evolving through his own imagination.
Ghone first requested a burgundy circular canvas, then carefully placed masking tape into a rectangle at the center, explaining that he wanted to create a bus. He independently selected a rich palette of red, black, purple, and pink, building expressive layers around the shape. Unexpectedly, he introduced vibrant turquoise and light green into the center of the composition, creating a striking contrast against the darker colors.
As the painting progressed, Ghone asked for a comb instead of another brush. He dragged it repeatedly through the wet paint, creating fine, radiating lines across the canvas. Looking at the emerging patterns, he excitedly explained that they looked like train tracks connecting different places.
During the creative process, Ghone became curious about how his iPad worked. He asked his mother questions such as, "What is the internet?" and "What is Wi-Fi?" After a simple explanation that information travels through invisible networks connecting people and devices around the world, Ghone paused, looked back at his painting, and transformed his original idea. The bus was no longer just a bus—it had become part of a much larger connected world.
He immediately renamed the artwork AI World.
The network of comb-made lines came to represent invisible pathways of communication, connection, and movement—much like digital networks linking people across the globe. Through intuitive color choices, experimental mark-making, and a spontaneous shift in narrative, AI World captures a child's interpretation of technology: not as machines or screens, but as an interconnected world where ideas, places, and people are linked together.
This artwork reflects Ghone's natural curiosity, his ability to transform new knowledge into visual expression, and the limitless imagination with which he interprets the world around him.
